There are two ways of adding links. You can either use the Add button on the Learnfizz toolbar, or you can use the Learnfizz bookmarklet/Fizzit button from your Favourites bar in the browser.

Method one: Using the Add button (all users)

Before you begin adding a link you must have the URL of the page you want to add. It is usually easiest to copy this to the clipboard in the following way:-

  2. Go to the page you want to add to LearnFizz.
  3. Select the URL from the address bar, including the http:// or https:// part at the beginning,
    e.g. http://www.happy.co.uk
  4. Press CTRL and C. The URL will now be on your Windows clipboard, ready for you to paste.
  5. Switch back to the Learnfizz tab.
  6. Click the Add button at the top of the page.
  7. Click Add Link.
  8. Fill out the Add Link Form.

Method two: Using the Learnfizz bookmarklet (IE8 or later users only)

You must add the Learnfizz bookmarklet to your favourites bar before you can use this method.

  1. In your browser, go to the page you wish to add to Learnfizz
  2. Click Learnfizz button on your Favorites bar. You will be taken to the Add a link page.
  3. The URL and Title will already be entered. Amend the title if required.

What is a 'Mix'?

Mixes are made up of related links. The idea is that a group of links can work together to produce a unified, comprehensive learning resource. You can think of it as a bit like a ‘course’. Individual links may not mean much on their own. A Mix, however, gives you the power to order links, and explain their context and usefulness to learners.

If you choose to make your Mix visible, it becomes a searchable web page on whatever topic you have chosen.
